SDGs stands for Sustainable Development Goals
It is an abbreviation for the 17 goals that the international community should achieve between 2016 and 2030.
The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are international goals aimed at achieving a sustainable and better world by 2030 , as outlined in the 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development, which was adopted at the United Nations Summit in September 2015 as the successor to the Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) formulated in 2001. Comprised of 17 goals and 169 targets, the SDGs pledge to "leave no one behind " on the planet . The SDGs are universal goals that not only developing countries but developed countries themselves should work towards, and at Hoken no Erisapo we are actively working on them, starting with what we can do.
The SDGs that Hoken no Erisapo focuses on are the following 10 goals.
At Hoken no Erisapo, we want to continue to be a company that contributes to the development of the region, "together with the region and with our customers." We are currently considering a full-scale expansion into the Sapporo area, but our headquarters will be based in Yoichi.
With regard to the SDGs, companies all over the world, especially large corporations, are setting their own goals and taking concrete action. In order to start working on SDGs from within our immediate surroundings, we have been holding training and discussions with all employees since last year about the SDGs that ERISAPO is working on. As an insurance agency, we believe that it is our important role to deliver safety, peace of mind, and smiles to our customers.
"Insurance" is an intangible product that prepares you for unexpected illness, disasters, and accidents. Some TV commentators assert that "insurance premiums are unnecessary," but are the contingency funds you can prepare through savings and asset management really sufficient? Money spent on unforeseen accidents is an unexpected expense. It's not money you know you'll need—like buying a house, paying for your children's education, or funding retirement. If you assume nothing will ever happen, insurance is a waste. However, that's only an afterthought. There's no such thing as "it's okay because nothing has happened before." If you have insurance, you won't panic if unexpected heavy rain, typhoons, earthquakes, or life-threatening illnesses like cancer, myocardial infarction, or stroke suddenly strike. You won't have to give up on your children's education because you don't have the money.
We are proud to handle insurance, which plays such an important role.
As a company that can be of service to everyone, we aim to contribute to society with a broad perspective, not just through our insurance agency business, and we also see our efforts toward the SDGs as a challenge, hoping to increase what we can do.
In addition to saving electricity and water, recycling what can be recycled and working towards a paperless society to reduce the amount of paper we use, these small actions add up to big results. Erisapo's company vehicles are fuel-efficient, and all office lighting was changed to LED five years ago.
The SDGs are goals that we all need to work towards.
We want to do our best to do what we can now, for ourselves and for the new generations that will carry the future.
